JewelryWhore Reviews: 2010 Oscars!

It's like the superbowl for us womenfolk! You know I had my finger foods and rice krispie treats ready for viewing. And I think I can safely say that this year's Oscars did not disappoint!

Favorites

FAVORITE. LOVED IT. This dress is definitely either love-it or hate-it, but I looooved it. And SJP's jewelry was almost as amazing as the dress.

So unexpected and different from what we usually see on the red carpet. Amazing!!! (Fred Leighton)

Alisa Michelle Giveaway Winners

Here are the winners of the personalized Alisa Michelle necklaces!

C.M. - I love Alisa Michelle and have several necklaces already but am always looking for more! Mine would say "Something else" (because it's the name of my favorite song...and because I am! :) )

hframmer - i would love love love to have "impavida" on one of her awesome necklaces (i just bought one for my mom and one for my sister on hautelook). impavida is the italian feminine translation of "fearless" or "intrepid" and i've considered getting it as a tattoo for years--its a motto of sorts. as for the translation-- i lived in italy for a few months on a whim, and my heart is still in that beautiful country. fitting for a necklace that will sit so close to the heart!

randy - I would love to win these for my wife & I, inscribed with the greek word "Metanoeo"-Repentence. I hope i win, it's my birthday!

Congrats everybody! Alisa will be in touch soon to get your info. :)

Fashion Flashback

Edited by Debutante
As fashion weeks starting winding down, some are looking forward to the next trend in fashion. This week, I was thrilled to see so many bloggers focusing on the past -the history of fashion. An obvious passion of mine, vintage fashion has never been so influential. fête à fête reviews a gorgeous collection of vintage inspired jewelry. Fabulous Finds narrates a 1950s styled romp through Palm Springs. Oranges and Apples shares inspiring vintage Life magazine images. In politics, if you don’t learn from history, you’re destined to repeat it. In fashion, if you don’t learn from history, you won’t know you are repeating it!

Jewelry as Art

Natalie Wood's lovely home on The Selby...

I love how she displays her jewelry as artwork.

How do you display your jewelry?

Hip Hop BLING.com Oh Yes. I Went There. And It Was Awesome.

Oh. Yeah.

I've always wanted to check out the kiosks in the mall with the big chains and all the bling, but have never had the kahunas. And then I found this web site!

Now before you go and judge me, or think I've definitely lost it this time, take a gander at some of the awesomeness I found on HipHopBling.com.

Helllloooo awesome. I am seriously contemplating getting this guy. AND he's only $20.

Doesn't this remind you of Fallon jewelry or something similar?

Love love this curb link bracelet. And it's oversized which makes it eeeeeven more badass.

Faux black diamond chain? Yes, please.

JewelryWhore Reviews: 2010 Grammys

Can we all agree that last night's grammys were a little...odd? It seemed like no one knew quiiiite what was going on, Pink made everyone uncomfortable with her naked, wet twirling, almost all of the duets were off-key and I'm pretty sure all of the presenters were drunk. Rock 'n' Roll!

But at least there were some fab jewels to distract us from the awkwardness of the night!

Lovely, kind of understated jewels on Lea Michele - she looked so fabulous! Yay Glee! (Lorraine Schwartz)

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE of the night. So amazing and completely perfect for the occasion. (Lorraine Schwartz)

Jewelry Makes Me Happy

I've been a little bummed out today, so I decided to post some lovely jewelry by Shourouk Rhaiem to cheer myself (and anyone else who's feeling a little blue today) up. She's one of my all-time favorite designers.

I'm starting off with my FAVORITE dress/jewels of the night: Drew Barrymore, wearing the coolest ring I have ever seen in my whole entire life. It's a light brown moonstone by Lorraine Schwartz. GASP. Love. Oh, and the earrings are pretty too.

These Bulgari earrings, as worn by their new spokeswoman Julianne Moore, are stunning.
